Welcome to the Laura MacKay Memorial Race Website.

This the second year of the annual Laura MacKay Memorial Race. The race was created in the memory of Laura Ann MacKay. Laura passed on February 04/2010 in a tragic bike crash in Tenerife, Spain, at the young age of 37. Laura was an avid triathlete and runner. Laura competed in mainly long course triathlons - Half and full distance Ironmans, and Half and full distance Marathons. It was felt that the best way to give tribute to Laura's amazing spirit and inspirational personality was through a memorial race. During Laura's life, her family was given the challenge of dealing with Cancer. Laura had two Aunts who are Cancer survivors and Laura's Mother-In-Law succumbed to Cancer in 2010. Laura was a strong believer in the fight against Cancer and all of the proceeds from this race will go to Cops For Cancer. When you sign up for this race, you are not only honoring the memory of Laura MacKay, but you are helping to fund research into Cancer treatements.
